Welcome to Iowa Landscape Photography! My philosophy goes something like this: Everyone knows Yosemite National Park, and Paris, France, and tropical places such as Tahiti. Photos of those places are easy to find, and for good reason, they're absolutely stunning. But the world is much more than the obvious. What I hope to accomplish within these pages is to showcase the subtle beauty and interest that is the American mid-west. When you look it becomes obvious and you feel almost embarrassed that you missed it prior.
This website was originally founded to showcase Iowa specifically, and has grown beyond that over the years. I now cover neighboring states such as Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and even some older photos from Califonia from when I lived there that fit the theme here, also. You will notice that I have a large selection of Michigan photos as well, as my wife is from Michigan and I/we travel there often, affording me many photo opportinities. In my galleries you will find quality fine art photography depicting rural and urban scenes, seasonal photos, photos depicting vintage scenes that evoke a nostalgic feeling, and some miscellaneous shots that don't fit any particular theme, but are nice photos in their own right.
